DADDY LION
Daddy Lion is a four-piece indie powerpop band based out of South Carolina and South Florida. The Washington Post has described their music as a "denser, woolier take on Bob Mould-inspired, early-'90s college rock" and NPR Music called it "a pleasant surprise... full of introspective and tortured travelogues, breakdowns and reminisces." Daddy Lion originally signed to the then Tampa Based 24 Hour Service Station Records alongside artists such as the legendary Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order) and John Ralston (formerly of Dashboard Confessional). They have opened for acts such as Kurt Cobain's fav Shonen Knife and Tim Kasher of Cursive. Daddy Lion is the most senior band on Zerowell Records, with its early roots carved during the days of Last FM. Their musical backgrounds are diverse - from playing in hardcore bands to studying classical composition. Fused together, their sound is pop-laden, yet subtly experimental, and texturally dense. They seek to embrace, but challenge the listener.
