Zerowell Records is a home for DIY recording artists: bedroom pop, basement rock, attic hip hop, living room IDM and everything in between. We don't believe that the quality of an artist's music is determined by the size of their studio budget. Rather, the pressure of worrying about money in the studio can, for some, interfere with the creative process. Some of the greatest recording artists of all-time like Guided By Voices, Daniel Johnston, and Alex G made some of the best records of all time, DIY, on a shoe-string budget, or even zero budget. We seek to promote artistic authenticity over commercial accessibility; and while that's becoming harder to find in our social-media saturated culture, we hope that Zerowell Records can help cultivate that sort of true artistry.
